ReceiptToSheet is a receipt scanner to Google Sheets. It is a mobile web app that scans paper or digital receipts and writes the extracted data — merchant, date, total, and expense category — directly into a row of your Google Sheet in under 10 seconds. Powered by Google Gemini AI. No app download required. Designed for freelancers, contractors, gig workers, and small business owners who already track expenses in Google Sheets.
Common questions
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. ReceiptToSheet is a PWA — it runs in your phone's browser. Open the site, add it to your home screen, and it works like a native app with no App Store install required.
- How does ReceiptToSheet scan receipts?
- You photograph a receipt with your phone camera. Google Gemini AI extracts the merchant name, date, total amount, and expense category. You review the results, then confirm — and a new row appears in your Google Sheet.
- Which Google Sheets does it work with?
- Any Google Sheet you own or have edit access to. You connect your Google account once via OAuth, paste your Sheet URL, and ReceiptToSheet writes to it directly. No template required.
- What data gets extracted from a receipt?
- Merchant name, date, total amount, and expense category. You can review and correct any field before it is saved to your Sheet.
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes. The free plan includes 20 scans per month with CSV export. Google Sheets sync and the in-app receipt history view are available on the Pro plan ($15/month).
- Does it work on iPhone and Android?
- Yes. ReceiptToSheet works in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android. No platform-specific app is required.
- How accurate is the AI extraction?
- Gemini AI correctly extracts merchant, date, and total on the vast majority of clear receipts. You always review the extracted fields before confirming — so you can correct anything before it is saved. Blurry or crumpled receipts may need a correction or two.
- Is my receipt data secure?
- Receipt images are processed by Google Gemini and are not stored permanently. Extracted data is saved to your account and written to your own Google Sheet — it never goes to a third-party data silo. Google OAuth uses read/write Sheets scope only; ReceiptToSheet cannot access your other Drive files.
- What happens if I cancel my Pro subscription?
- Your account reverts to the free plan (20 scans/month, CSV export). Your scanned receipt data and Google Sheet connection are preserved. You can resubscribe at any time to restore Sheets sync and your full scan limit.
