Introduction
ReceiptToSheet (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the web application at receipttosheet.com. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when using ReceiptToSheet:
- Email address (account registration and waitlist signup)
- Google account information (name, email) when you connect Google Sign-In
- Receipt images you upload for scanning
- Receipt data extracted from images (merchant, date, total, category)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Account management and authentication
- Syncing extracted receipt data to your Google Sheet
- Sending transactional emails (waitlist confirmation, trial notifications)
- Improving OCR extraction accuracy (receipt images only — Google user data is never used for this purpose)
Google User Data
When you connect Google Sheets to ReceiptToSheet, we ask Google for permission to read and write only the specific Sheets you choose. We do this through Google’s own file selection tool.
ReceiptToSheet can only see Sheets you specifically connect via the Google Picker. We never have access to your other Drive files or Sheets. We use Google Picker to let you select a Sheet.
What this means
What we CAN do:
- Read and write only the Sheets you specifically connect via the file selector
- Create new Sheets when you ask us to (the “Create new Sheet for me” option)
What we CANNOT do:
- See, list, or open any other Drive files or Sheets
- Access files you didn't grant or that we didn't help you create
ReceiptToSheet’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell Google user data to third parties. Google user data is never used to train AI or machine learning models. No ReceiptToSheet employees or contractors access your Google Sheets data.
Third-Party Processors
We share your data with the following third-party processors as necessary to operate the service:
- Google— Authentication (Firebase) and Google Sheets API
- Stripe— Payment processing and subscription management
- Resend— Transactional email delivery
- Neon— PostgreSQL database hosting
Data Retention
We retain your data according to the following schedule:
- Anonymous users: session data only, not persisted after the session ends
- Free registered users: receipt history retained for 30 days (rolling window)
- Pro and Business: receipt history retained for 15 months
- Receipt images: stored for the duration of the applicable retention period, then deleted
Data Security
We encrypt sensitive data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Google OAuth tokens are encrypted before storage.
Your Rights
You can disconnect your Google account and delete your stored data from the Settings page. To request full account deletion, contact us at hello@receipttosheet.com.
